Meriwether Condo Overhaul

When the Meriwether condominiums were built, an original owner commissioned the builder to combine units 130 and 230 with an internal staircase. The resulting residence reflected his highly individualized preferences. Thirty years later, its dated finishes and unconventional layout made it difficult to sell.

Recognizing the property’s potential, a new owner hired Stratified to restore the two separate residences envisioned in the original building design. The project required a renovation down to the studs within an occupied condominium building, including engineered structural alterations and replacement of a primary support column on the first floor of the four-story structure.

Stratified restored the units’ original configuration while updating both residences to modern standards. Our careful coordination and attention to minimizing disruption earned the confidence of neighboring owners, many of whom subsequently hired us to renovate their own homes. To date, Stratified has completed remodeling work in eight of the building’s fourteen units.
